Ohio High Court Upholds State Tort Reform

The Ohio Supreme Court has upheld the state’s 2005 tort reform law in two separate rulings, according to a report by AHA News Now.

First, the court upheld a tort reform provision preventing injured workers from suing employers for damages in addition to getting workers’ compensation benefits.

Second, the court said the law does not violate the rights of injured workers to trial by jury, remedy, open courts, due process of law or equal protection under the Ohio Constitution.
