Stacey Royal, MD, who ran Royal Treatment Urgent Care, filed more than $900,000 in false claims to insurance companies and received more than $100,000 in payments between Oct. 2004 and July 2009.
Sentencing has been scheduled for sentencing on Oct. 22, but prosecutors have already agreed to recommend having Dr. Royal placed on community control if she pays $50,000 toward the restitution amount at that time.
Dr. Royal was first charged last year and faced additional charges in July.
