Obama Administration Asks Insurers to Allow Young Adults to Stay on Parents’ Policies Sooner Than Mandated

With college graduations starting, the Obama administration will ask insurers to allow young adults to say on their parents’ plans until age 26 rather than wait until this standard is required on Sept. 23, according to report by ABC News.

Several large insurers announced last month that they would offer this coverage before it becomes mandatory, according to the report.

Until the mandate takes effect, insurers could remove young adults from their parents’ policies when they turn 23.
