Nurse Bullying May Lead to More Widespread Consequences

A survey of 357 nurses at 41 hospital units in Canada suggests nurse bullying could lead to high turnover by both victims and observers of the abuse, according to a study published in Human Relations.

Survey results showed that working in an environment with bullying increases victim’s desires for another job. Notably, the researchers also suggest unit-level bullying may have a strong, if not stronger, impact on those who observe poor treatment on their colleagues.
