Nueterra began seeking an EMR system after the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act mandated that medical records be electronic by 2014. Nueterra selected Mavicor because it offers reduced implementation costs while creating greater control over updates and versions, according to the release.
David Ayers, president of Nueterra’s surgical facilities division, said the company’s commitment to provide facilities with the best service available drove the decision. “We’re committed to providing the latest technology to our facilities. As a management company, we always want to be one step ahead of the game and teaming up with Mavicor will allow us to be on the forefront of this new regulation,” Mr. Ayers said in the release. “Nueterra is pleased to be a leader in the industry and will always be committed to our physician partners and our patients.”
Using Mavicor to host the EMR will also ensure the records remain confidential and secure. “Every piece of patient information is stored in secure servers that are backed up continuously. Most facilities currently only back up their information on a daily basis, and the new system will be a real step forward in protecting their data,” Mavicor COO Steve Campbell said in the release. “We are excited to be able to deploy this throughout the Nueterra facilities and are looking forward to the impact it will have on patient care and day-to-day operations.”
