NovaMed Reports Revenue Growth of 8% in Third Quarter

NovaMed, an operator of ambulatory surgery centers in partnership with physicians, has announced its financial results for the third quarter ending Sept. 30. The company posted total net revenue growth of 8 percent to nearly $38.768 million, up from $36.05 million in third-quarter 2008, according to a NovaMed news release.

Net income from continuing operations attributable to NovaMed in the third quarter of 2009 increased 4 percent to $1.862 million from $1.798 million in the prior year third quarter. Net cash provided by operations increased 15 percent to $7.133 million in the third quarter of 2009 from $6.196 million in the prior year third quarter. EBITDA increased 9 percent to $7.217 million. Same-facility revenue declined 1 percent in the third quarter of 2009.

For the nine months ending Sept. 30, total net revenue grew to $116.634 million, up 11 percent from $105.043 million for the first nine months last year, despite a 2 percent decline in same-facility net revenue. Net income from continuing operations attributable to NovaMed increased 10 percent to $5.713 million in the first nine months of 2009 compared to $5.177 million in the first nine months of 2008. Net cash provided by operations increased 13 percent to $19.225 million o in the first nine months of 2009 from $16.998 million in the first nine months of 2008.
