New Rule Allows States to Build Alternative Medicaid Benefit Packages

CMS has issued a final rule allowing states to create alternative benefits packages for certain Medicaid populations, according to the Federal Register.

The rule, published in the April 30 Federal Register and effective July 1, allows states to offer “benchmark-equivalent” packages different from the standard Medicaid benefits package.
