The facility, a $10 million expenditure sponsored in part by Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, was certified in April 2011. The center showcased its technology recently when representatives from Tallahassee’s various medical fields watched as a team of surgeons, led by Peter Loeb, MD, operated on a cadaver knee. The procedure was shown on HD screens in the observation room.
Dr. Loeb said the new technology is a step away from the old method of cramming students into corners or standing an atrium away from the procedure.
