Nearly half of the physicians, nurses and pharmacists surveyed also said they use social media for professional networking. Among all social media sites, Facebook was the most commonly used job hunting resource for 75 percent of survey respondents.
“It’s still not to the extent that other professionals are using social media. In their work lives, they’re not sitting on a computer other than to enter medical records,” said Nicci Weber, manager of physician recruiting group Cincinnati MD Jobs. “But as the current residents and fellows finish up training, I think we’ll see it pick up more.”
