New Jersey ASCs Serve as Medical Supply Drop Off for Haiti Relief Efforts

The Ambulatory Surgical Center of Union County (N.J.) is accepting donations of medical supplies for relief efforts for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti, according to a report in The Star-Ledger.

The Specialty Surgical Center in Sparta, N.J., is also serving as the drop-off point for Sussex County.

The ASCs are asking for donations of medical supplies such as gloves, masks, tubing, alcohol wipes, ace wraps, dressing supplies, cotton, gauze, sutures, hand sanitizers and IV starting supplies from medical offices and facilities, according to the report. The public can donate supplies such as Band-aids, topical anti fungal cream, aspirin, antacids, first aid kits, Neosporin and medical soaps.

The ASC is working with the United Way and the American Red Cross in the effort.
