The settlement is part of a whistle-blower lawsuit, brought about by hospital consultant Anthony Kite, that named 15 hospital operators across New Jersey, according to the report. Mr. Kite accused the hospitals of collecting $900 million in improper Medicare payments.
Our Lady of Lourdes Health Care, which operates the medical center, admitted no wrongdoing in the settlement but agreed to the payment to avoid costly litigation, according to the report.
Mr. Kite will receive $356,000 plus interest from the settlement.
