On Oct. 28, the ASC hosted tours of the ASC to community members, provided free blood pressure screenings and led visitors in a game of “The Price is What?,” a game developed to educate visitors about the cost of healthcare services.
Visitors included New Jersey State Senator Steven Oroho (R) and Holly Ostby, western district coordinator for Congressman Scott Garrett (R-N.J.), as well as students from Dover Business College in Paramus, N.J.
The event was developed to help people across the country learn more about ambulatory surgery and the topnotch, cost-effective care ASCs provide. This year, more than 22 million surgical procedures will be performed in an ASC and, yet, many people still know very little about the services ASCs provide, according to the release.
