The surgery center also includes an imaging center. The new facility could open by spring 2012. The health system also has plans to build a hospital on the property of the new surgery and imaging center.
Catholic Healthcare West isn’t the only health system developing a new surgery center for the area, according to the report. Sutter Health has approved financing for a new $10.8 million ASC scheduled to break ground in May 2011, with completion of the facility targeted for a year later. Sutter Health is planning for a hospital on the same property as its ASC but has not set a date to begin construction.
