According to the report, construction could begin as early as spring 2011 and be completed by mid-2013. Renovations would include replacing the four outpatient operating rooms with large rooms, adding a 3,000-square-foot storage area that would connect the inpatient and outpatient surgical areas and converting the 12-bed pre- and post-surgery waiting area into 12 private rooms.

HHS’ Health Services Planning and Review Board must grant the hospital a certificate of need before the project begins, according to the report. A public hearing for each application will be announced in March and the committee will make its decision following the hearings.
