The board’s investigation started in April when Dr. Holshuh was hospitalized after appearing drunk at a hotel. After this incident, Dr. Holshuh was issued an emergency suspension.

Since then, the board placed his license on a year-long suspension due to several discoveries revolving around his professional conduct, including driving intoxicated, altering medical records, using anti-anxiety medication lorazepam and abandoning patients by suddenly closing his practice without alerting them, according to the report.
Dr. Holshuh has denied some of the allegations but did admit he was an alcoholic. In addition to a suspended license, Dr. Holshuh is subject to random drug and alcohol testing and treatment at the New Hampshire Professionals Health Program.
