The findings showed that 88 percent of physician respondents are involved in online social communities for professional purposes. Nurse practitioners and physician assistants indicated that they log in to the websites more frequently than physicians, who average one login per week.
The 12 percent of physicians not involved in social communities most often cited time constraints and privacy and security as deterrents.
