The revisions, which included adoption of new Global Trade Item Number international bar code standards and significant updates to packaging language, were motivated by New GTIN Standards, U.S. FDA 510(k) clearance and increasing demand for the lancets abroad.

SurgiLance safety lancets are available in six models, ranging from 18–26 gauges and 1.0–2.3 mm penetration depths.
