The lawsuit claims that the diagnostic imaging company submitted fraudulent Medicare claims between Dec. 2002 and Oct. 2006 from BioImaging diagnostic clinics, one located in Cool Springs, Tenn., and two in Nashville. Medquest says it did not violate federal law.
The Medquest suit dates to a whistle-blower lawsuit that was filed in 2006. The government says Medquest failed to have qualified physicians on site to monitor tests where patients were given drugs intravenously. The company denies any wrongdoing and says its policy is to always have a physician present for the procedure.
