Medicaid Payments to Maryland Clinic Halted on Suspicion of Healthcare Fraud

Maryland health officials have halted Medicaid payments to Warwick Manor Behavioral Health, a drug treatment and mental health clinic in East New Market that is being investigated for possible healthcare fraud, according to a Delaware Online news report.

State health officials accuse the healthcare facility of overbilling and charging for services of physicians who were not at the facility. Just last year, the facility billed the state Medicaid program approximately $1.5 million, according to the report.
