Here are three points:
1. The GVN attributes the increase in cases to the rising number of parents who opt to not vaccinate their children.
2. Measles usually does not cause lifelong problems. In some cases, it may cause serious side effects including seizures, pneumonia and encephalitis, which may result in death.
3. GVN researchers are working to improve the measles vaccination and are conducting more research about the complications of measles.
