Novus Scientific Receives New U.S. Patent for Mesh Implant

Novus Scientific’s TIGR Matrix Surgical Mesh received a patent for material degradation and mechanical behavior, according to a news release.

The mesh implant uses a process called mechanotransduction in which soft tissue remodels in responses to the stimulus of increased mechanical load. The mesh implant encourages regenerated tissue to grow that replaces the degraded mesh, which disappears after three years.
