The surgery center is part of the Malo Health Group, a Lisbon, Portugal-based organization of over 14 mega-clinics in North and South America, Asia and Africa, and the facility is the group’s first ASC in the United States.
Malo’s New Jersey site will implement AmkaiOffice, a next-generation administrative software program designed to replace the largely legacy systems in place today, and AmkaiCharts, an electronic medical record system designed specifically for outpatient surgery environments.
A crucial factor in the decision to award the contract to Amkai was the ability to manage information with the same software across not only the surgery center, but also the affiliated surgical offices, according to the release.
Malo expects to eventually implement Amkai Software at its other, international sites.
