Louisiana State University Ophthalmology Clinic Moves Into New Facility in Lafayette

Louisiana State University’s ophthalmology clinic and residency program has moved into a new, 5,000-square-foot facility in Lafayette, La., according to a report by the Telegram.

LSU’s ophthalmology clinic moved to Lafayette after Hurricane Katrina forced the university’s New Orleans clinic to close. The clinic proved to be very successful in Lafayette and has now moved to a permanent home in the city, according to the report.

LSU’s Lafayette clinic serves approximately 600 patients per month and offers surgical ophthalmic procedures including cataract removal and laser procedures.

The new facility will allow the program to train additional residents in coming years, according to the report.
