Lake Ridge Ambulatory Surgery Center Donates $317k to Free Clinic

Lake Ridge Ambulatory Surgery Center in Virginia has donated $317,000 to The Prince William Area Free Clinic in Woodbridge, Va., according to a report from the Potomac Local.

“These are the people who don’t even qualify for Obamacare, so we wanted to give back to an organization that is providing care for those who otherwise wouldn’t have access to it,” said Lake Ridge Ambulatory Surgery Center Administrator Janet Smith, RN, who used to be a nurse at PWAFC before serving in her position, to the Local.

PWAFC says it will use the donation to offset operating costs of a new clinic location, which has helped the clinic increase its weekly operating hours to 44, up from 16, according to the report.
