The $3.1 million ASC will employ between 12 and 14 people once it opens. The ASC represents a new type of business arrangement for Randolph Hospital, which will have a 68 percent ownership stake in the center.

Central Piedmont physicians are expected to perform 1,600-2,000 procedures annually and the ASC will be operated by Nueterra, a Kansas-based management company that operates more than 70 ASCs nationwide.
