Job Opening: Director of Outpatient Surgery for Atlanta Health System

A leading Health System in the Atlanta area is searching for a Director of Outpatient Surgery to run their new Outpatient Pavilion that is part of a 600+ bed hospital. The Director has responsibility for implementing standards of practice, system and department policies and procedures, and ensuring quality patient care. Other responsibilities include ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal requirements by all departmental personnel. The Director is responsible for financial performance, human and material resource management, patient/customer satisfaction, appropriate reporting, and coordination of departmental functions with the operations of other hospital departments to assure quality services at a reasonable cost for patients. The Director serves as chief retention officer for his/her assigned unit(s). The Director creates and maintains an environment that enables the system to fulfill its mission and goals and fosters communication and collaborative practice with physicians and other departments.

Required Minimum Education:

Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing strongly preferred; licensure as a registered professional nurse in the State of Georgia; national certification in nursing administration or clinical specialty preferred. Master’s degree strongly preferred.


Required Minimum Experience:

A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of nursing practice in specialty area required; three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in a management role in an outpatient surgery setting
