Alternatively, surgery center administrator positions could be provided by either physicians or non-physicians. From a regulatory perspective, compensation paid should reflect what other administrators are paid in the marketplace.
That being said, a physician who has extensive experience in running an ASC should receive administrator salary towards the upper end of market survey data for these services. To ensure compliant and reasonable compensation rates, we would suggest having a full FMV appraisal conducted.
