• Surveillance
• Cleanliness of environment of care
• Reporting to state health departments
• Sharps injury prevention
• Loaner equipment/instruments
• Immediate use steam sterilization
Ms. Day also noted some changes in infection prevention regulations, including surgical site infection surveillance. She urged providers to read the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s 2013 paper on SSI surveillance changes for its National Healthcare Safety Network, available here.
