Indiana Names Deputy Director for Medicaid Fraud Unit

Timothy J. McClure was sworn in as the new deputy director of the Indiana Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, according to a report in Inside Indiana Business.

Mr. McClure will report to Director Allen K. Pope and will serve as one of 145 deputy attorneys general for Indiana.

The Indiana MFCU investigates Medicaid provider fraud and the misuse of Medicaid recipient funds as well as patient abuse and neglect, according to the report. The unit can also refer such complaints for state and federal criminal prosecution.

Mr. McClure previously served as the director of the Indiana State Ethics Committee from Jan. 2001-Dec. 2005, where he investigated violations of government ethics laws, oversaw ethics training for 30,000 state employees and provided advisory opinions on ethics questions to state officials.
