The ASC was previously a joint venture between Springfield Regional Medical Center and several local surgeons. However, the medical center took full ownership of the center in May after the surgeons opened their own surgical hospital.

Although the ASC will focus on endoscopy, the center will continue to offer all of the services previously available at the center including pain management, ophthalmology, dermatology, plastic surgery, podiatry, orthopedics and gynecological and general surgery.
