The new surgery center would allow residents in the area to schedule outpatient procedures closer to home and will be used by surgeons and anesthesiologists during regular business hours, according to the report. In addition, patients will be able to undergo outpatient cancer procedures with cancer specialists at another new center.

Lake Forest is investing $49 million in the new centers and adding four, 500-square-foot operating suites and cancer treatment areas.
