TX Surgery Center in Frisco Recruiting Physician-Investors

Legacy Surgery Center of Frisco (Texas) is recruiting physicians to perform procedures at and invest in an outpatient surgery center it runs in Frisco, according to Blayne Rush, MHP, MBA, a licensed investment banker and president of Ambulatory Alliances, which has been engaged by Legacy Surgery Center of Frisco to lead the recruitment efforts.

The surgery center is hoping the addition of physician-investors will help boost surgery volumes.

“When physicians have ownership, they do tend to have more influence on quality, cost and efficiencies, and thus typically do more of their approved procedures in that setting,” Mr. Rush says.

It is currently unknown and Mr. Rush declined to comment, citing state securities regulations, if and how much ownership to new physicians will be offered in the Legacy Surgery ASC. Mr. Rush would only say “there is significant room to grow because the ASC has two operating rooms that are not at capacity and there is shell space in the building that could allow an additional two rooms.”

According to Legacy Surgery Center of Frisco website, the ASC currently offers services that include:

  • ENT
  • Male fertility surgery
  • Cosmetic surgery, including facial, plastic and reconstructive
  • Podiatric surgery
  • Pain management procedures
  • Neuro/spine surgery
  • Migraine management procedures

The ASC is located across the street from Baylor Medical Center at Frisco, which Mr. Blayne says is ideal for both patients and physicians. “The center is easily assessable from the North Dallas Parkway, Texas Highway 121 and Legacy Drive,” he says.
