The FDA Reform Act of 2012 includes the Prescription Drug User Fee Act.
The HSCA statement is attributed to HSCA President Curtis Rooney. He said the bill “will help alleviate and avoid critical prescription drug shortages, and will enhance the ability of the healthcare supply chain to track and recall faulty medical devices through the use of a Unique Device Identifier.”
The House’s passage of the bill comes about a week after the U.S. Senate passed its own version of the legislation (Read HSCA’s statement on the Senate’s passage by clicking here (pdf).
