Here are three ways ASCs can improve patient satisfaction:
1. Improve scheduling process efficiency. ASCs can achieve this objective through several tactics, including scheduling cases far in advance, developing strong relationships with physician offices and scheduling separate specialties in the same room whenever possible.
2. Improve operational efficiencies. Pinnacle III recommends monitoring physician block schedules, staffing levels and turnover time, as well as providing safety and efficiency training. It’s helpful to conduct pre-operative interviews to obtain medical histories prior to the date of service.
3. Analyze patient satisfaction scores. Establish patient satisfaction return rates and score goals, then frequently evaluate questions to ensure they provide relevant information.
