The vaccination event, called “Flulapalooza,” saw 12,647 university and medical center faculty, staff and students receive free influenza vaccinations from 6:50 a.m. until 2:50 p.m.
The current Guinness world record is 6,215, held by Kaiser Permanente. Vanderbilt reported it had surpassed 6,300 vaccinations within the events first four hours, according to the release.

By the time Flulapalooza ended in the evening, more than 14,000 total vaccinations had been dispensed.
