Hospital officials say much of the hospital’s success can be attributed to the hospital’s Clinical Skills Simulation Center at Henry Ford Hospital, which features simulation technologies, curriculum and assessments to increase faculty competencies in team communications, patient safety and physician-patient communication.
According to the news report, the health system has dramatically reduced its rate of all sentinel events, including medication errors and preventable injuries, by 25 percent from 2008-2010. Henry Ford aims to reduce those sentinel events by another 50 percent by the end of 2013, according to the news report.
