Health Reform Debate Dampening Popularity of President, Congress and Both Parties

A CBS News poll finds that 36 percent of Americans approve of President Obama’s handling of healthcare and 42 percent disapprove, which is a new low, according to a release from CBS.

Congress received even lower marks, with 57 percent disapproving of how Democrats are handling the issue and 61 percent disapproving of how Republicans are handling it.

Approval among each party’s base is also low, too, with 48 percent of Democrats approving of their party’s position on health reform and 43 percent of Republicans approving of their party’s position.
