Of course, working near one of the premier ski resorts in the country and having the ability to take advantage of this proximity even during the work week doesn’t hurt either.
“We are very fortunate to be located in the midst of the incredible beauty of Vail, at the base of Vail Mountain,” says Ms. Millard. “A few of the many benefits of working at the surgery center include a ski pass benefit, an incentive bonus program and flexible scheduling, which allows some staff to enjoy getting a few ski runs in during the day.”
Vail Valley opened in 2002 as a joint venture between Vail Valley Medical Center and physicians in the Vail Valley. The center has four operating rooms and one procedure room. There are currently 21 physician partners. Vail Valley completes more than 4,000 cases annually, with a majority of the surgical cases in orthopedics.
Vail Valley treats some of the nation’s top athletes, with Dr. William Sterett, Vail Valley’s medical director, serving as head team physician for the U.S. Women’s Alpine Ski Team.
With many world-class athletes relying on Vail Valley for their care, the ASC expects its staff to be equally world class, a commitment to care that does not go unnoticed.
“The employees cite a strong team atmosphere with a focus on excellence and an emphasis on professional certifications as a few of the many positives of working at the center,” says Ms. Millard.
