Norman M. Werther, MD, a 71-year-old family physician in Willow Grove, Pa., was indicted for allegedly accepting 31 “pseudo patients” and giving them “cursory” physical exams.
For a of $150 office visit fee, Dr. Werther allegedly wrote prescriptions for oxycodone-based drugs, and the patients were driven to pharmacies to have their prescriptions filled.
