Researchers studied if CT volumetry could effectively evaluate endocrine parameters in the pancreas. A sample of patients who received CT for pancreatic disease showed a correlation of diabetic status and postoperative pancreatic CT parameters one year after pancreatectomy.
The researchers suggest that CT may be able to predict postoperative diabetic outcome.
