In the plea agreement, Dr. Weinberger could be sentenced to four years in prison if a U.S. district judge accepts it. If the judge does not accept the plea agreement, Dr. Weinberger has the option of reverting to his original plea of not guilty, according to the report.
Dr. Weinberger’s sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 21.
