“Doctor shopping” is the act of individuals soliciting prescriptions for medications from multiple physicians. In most cases, individuals choose to go “doctor shopping” in order to fuel drug addictions. FPCS stated a possible repeal of PDMP could mean “leaving honest physicians in the precarious position of unknowingly prescribing narcotic medications to a possible abuser or dealer.”
FPCS finds Governor Scott’s reasoning for repealing the PDMP as “illogical and unsupportable,” according to the news release.
