U.S. Attorney Indicts 32 in Florida Pill Mill Crackdown

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Florida has indicted 32 people involved in four pain management clinics that have been cited as pill mills, according to a CBS Miami report.

Operators of clinics named American Pain, Executive Pain, East Coast Pain and Hallandale Pain allegedly hired complicit doctors who prescribed oxycodone and other painkillers without regard to medical necessity.

 

Charges included racketeering, money laundering, possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, maintaining drug-involved premises and wire and mail fraud conspiracy.
