Florida Pediatric Surgery Center Invites Community to See New Renovations

The Shands Children’s Surgical Center, which recently reopened, invited donors, supporters and regional pediatricians from the community to visit the newly renovated center, according to a report in the University of Florida College of Medicine’s Insider.

The four-operating room facility was recently redesigned with a ocean and sand color scheme and includes stained glass above the entry, a saltwater aquarium in the waiting room and an underwater mural in the recovery room, according to the report.

Shands’ pediatric-specific surgery staff specialize in general pediatric surgery, plastic and craniofacial surgery, orthopedics, otolaryngology, dentistry, pediatric gastroenterology and oncology.
