The new “pressurized olfactory device,” currently being tested on animals, is a noninvasive approach that could relieve pain with fewer side effects and faster onset of action.
Researchers at the University of Washington have used the device to deliver morphine with pinpoint precision directly to the olfactory region of the nasal cavity.
