Fee-Fix Would Likely be Reduced to Seven Months, Voted on Today

Senate Democrats are likely to reduce their proposed 11-month physician fee-fix to seven months and put it up for a Senate vote today, according to a report by Fox News.

Even shaving off four months, however, may not be enough to reach the 60 votes needed for passage of the bill, which also includes extending enhanced Medicaid funding for the states.

Sixty votes are required because the bill would add to the federal deficit. That would mean finding at least two GOP supporters, but Republicans are opposed to any more deficit-spending.
