Dr. Charlton has been serving as interim CMO since shortly after WVU Healthcare was formed in 2010. Since 2008, she has been chair of the WVU Department of Ophthalmology and leader of the WVU Eye Institute.
Having graduated from the WVU School of Pharmacy, Dr. Charlton earned her MD from WVU School of Medicine and completed postgraduate training at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh and at WVU.
