The company said it recently received 510(k) clearance from FDA for the new line instruments, which are designed to allow their components to be fully disassembled to help improve cleaning and inspection.
“These new laparoscopic patterns are an important addition to our instrument portfolio,” said Dan Reuvers, president of Integra Surgical, in the release. “Long, narrow cannulas and intricately fitting components are a challenge to clean, yet are necessary for minimally invasive surgery. Our new take-apart design balances ease of cleaning with surgeon preference, both of which are important goals in achieving optimal patient care.”
The company will feature the instruments at 59th annual Association of periOperative Registered Nurses Congress.
