FDA Workshop Addresses MRI Safety

In order to ensure the rising numbers of MRIs are done safely, the FDA held a public workshop Oct. 25-26 at its White Oak campus in Silver Spring, Md., according to an Advancing Safety in Medical Technology news release.

Experts went over safety precautions including the screening procedure that ensures improper implants don’t get scanned. Experts also talked about the importance of training for MRI technologists, radiologists and even patients.
