FDA approves macular degeneration surgery for patients 65 years & older

Macular degeneration surgery was originally only approved for patients over 75, but now the FDA has approved the outpatient surgery for those over 65, reports WWSB.

Eligibility for the surgery includes patients who have not had cataract surgery and are considered legally blind, according to the report.
